Newborn Portrait Session

The above photos were taken the day after Julian was born. Julian's mom was so gracious to spare a few minutes of her time while still at the hospital. Two weeks later we visited Julian and his mother at home for a one hour portrait session. A few of my favorites are below.

About Us

“It is my heart’s desire to use my talent to bring a smile to every child’s face.”
By choosing Children’s Photography your smile will reach around the world for years to come by putting a smile on the face of a child in need.
“After having visited a tiny fishing village in East Africa, my heart is stirred to continue to give to children in need. These boys and girls are no different from our own children, only they are born under different circumstances. You can help bring a smile to their faces.”

FAQ's
Frequently Asked Questions
What are your prices?
My Fine Art Portraits are reasonably priced. We offer both Fine Art Prints and Custom Photo Albums. Please send me an email, or give me a call today to inquire about Portrait Session availability and package pricing. childrensphotography@gmail.com or 919.274.2357
What should my child wear?
Simple clothing makes the best portraits. I recommend white or any soft ‘baby’ color for infants and solid colored age appropriate clothing for older kids. The focus will be on your child’s beautifully unique expressions and not on their clothing. Please have your child’s favorite toy available to be photographed too. Hats and blankies are always adorable.
What happens if my child won’t smile?
Don’t worry. Most children warm up to me and the camera after a few minutes. I never put a child on the spot and demand a certain pose or expression. While posing works with adults, kids just want to play. You and I will encourage your child to play and ignore the camera. I will get the best expressions from your child naturally as they happen during play.
Where are you located?
I live in Kennesaw, GA. I do not work out of a studio. I capture real moments of your child in your home or for older kids while playing at the park. Some of the best expressions are in the tub, right after a nap, or playing in a tent made of sheets in the bedroom. A park lets your child have fun and easily forget the camera. I will use a zoom lens as your children play together to catch their expressions.
How do I order portraits?
Protected in a keepsake memory box, you will receive a set of numbered 4x6 proofs from your portrait session that are yours to keep. From these proofs you will be able to order reprints in the sizes you want by sending me a request by email.
When will I receive my printed portraits?
I will determine your delivery date at the time you place your order depending on the sizes and quantity desired. It will be less than two weeks.
Who will my photographer be?
I will not send a replacement photographer to take your photographs. I will meet with you before your portrait session to plan and schedule, I will take your photos and deliver them to you. In the unlikely event of an extreme emergency I will reschedule our session as early as possible to fit your schedule.
When and how do I pay?
You may pay with cash or personal check. The Portrait Session Premium is due at the time we schedule the session. When you place an order half of the amount is due up front, and the balance is due when you receive your prints.
What happens if it rains the day of a outdoor session?
If schedules permit we will wait until the rain stops. If this is not an option we will move the session indoors to our Plan B location, or we will reschedule for the next available session day.
Do you photograph adults, weddings, headshots, families, etc.?
Although my specialty is children Birth - 18 years, under certain circumstances I will photograph non-children’s portraits and events.
